Privacy policy
Last updated:
Draft DRAFT-PENDING-OWNER-REVIEW: the site owner has not reviewed this page yet. It is not the final text.
This page explains what happens to your data when you read codesook.dev. It replaces the older privacy notice for job applicants (July 2024): the site no longer takes job applications.
In short
- CodeSook is a static website. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no forms, no comments and no newsletter.
- We do not ask for, collect or store personal data about you.
- We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies.
- The site sets no cookies. It stores one preference (light or dark theme) on your device only if you choose a theme.
- Some Posts embed videos or terminal recordings from other services. Those services see your visit when the embed loads.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. The site has no feature that takes input from you and sends it to us: no accounts, no contact form, no comments, no search that logs your queries. To reach us, use one of the channels on the Contact page. What you send there is handled by that platform under its own policy.
Visit statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to learn which Posts are read and how fast pages load. Cloudflare states that this service uses no cookies and no local storage, and does not fingerprint your browser or track you across sites.
The statistics cover the page address (without the query string), the referring site, the browser, operating system and device type, the country, and page load timings. We see them only as totals and charts, never as a record of one person. Cloudflare, as the provider of the service and of our hosting, processes the request that carries this data. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
The Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon is the only third-party script that the site itself loads.
What is stored on your device
- Cookies: none are set by codesook.dev.
- Theme choice: if you switch between light and dark, your browser keeps that choice in local storage under the key
codesook-theme. It never leaves your device. Clearing site data removes it.
Hosting and media
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like every web server, Cloudflare receives your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages, and may keep short-lived technical logs for security and operation.
Images and videos are served with the pages, from codesook.dev itself. Fonts are served from codesook.dev too, not from a font provider. No other host is involved in loading media.
Embedded content from other services
Some Posts embed content from other services. The embed loads only on pages that contain it, and the service receives your IP address and browser details when it does.
- YouTube videos use
youtube-nocookie.com, the privacy-enhanced mode of YouTube. According to Google, this mode does not store information about visitors on their device unless they play the video. Playing a video is then covered by Google’s privacy policy. - Terminal recordings are played by asciinema, loaded from asciinema.org. See their privacy policy for what they process.
Links to other sites (Facebook, YouTube, GitHub and others) leave codesook.dev. Those sites have their own policies.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is normally nothing for us to show, correct or delete. You still have the rights that Thai data protection law (PDPA) gives you, including the right to ask what data a controller holds, to object, to ask for deletion and to complain to the Personal Data Protection Committee. To ask us a question about your data, use the Contact page.
Changes
If the site changes in a way that affects this policy, for example by adding accounts or a form, we update this page first. The Thai version is the primary text; the English version is a translation of it.
